Apostilles and Authentications
What is an apostille? Apostilles are authentications provided by the Secretary of State verifying a notary’s identity against the notary database. These are used when submitting documents to foreign countries belonging to the Geneva Convention. Authentications are for countries that do not belong to the Geneva Convention. Notary publics help to prevent fraud by verifying identities so make sure you have a valid non-expired ID at your appointment. These include drivers licenses, passports, and military ID’s. If you are unsure, mention it and we can discuss potential alternatives.
